The CA2 is a new ‘budget’ pre-amplifier from ATC that incorporates many of the key design features found in the company’s state-of-the-art SCA2 audiophile model. But this is no budget, performer. When you first hear this pre-amp you’ll be amazed by its transparency, wide band-width and low distortion.

The CA2 delivers true high-end performance at an unusually affordable price. The CA2 is a two channel stereo design aimed where high-quality, low-cost compact listening solutions are necessary.
Developed to drive both passive and active loudspeakers, its most likely partners will be ATC’s Active T16 and Active 10 systems. SACD and DVDA ready, the CA2 has a wealth of cutting-edge electronic design features. The CA2 features a slimline case with the front panel and controls machined from solid aircraft-grade alloy. Easy turn controls and soft action buttons continue ATC’s tradition of total hand-built quality and durability.
Capable of driving cables up to 50 metres in length it makes an ideal choice for active systems. Circuitry has been designed specifically to avoid phase distorting ICs in the signal path, making full use of discrete component gain blocks.
The input stage features a dual long tail pair of complementary transistors with cascaded junction FETs providing constant collector voltage. Output of the current mirrors is buffered by a pair of complementary Darlingtons.
There are separate power supplies for each channel, plus a digital input control. An optional close cartridge matching RRIA phono board is also available. The CA2 can be operated either from the front control panel or via its all-function, remote.
It offers five line level unbalanced RCA style inputs, while a separate tape loop is included with the monitor option selected by a single push button.
